1. Paṭhamavalāhakasuttaṃ

101. Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –

‘‘Cattārome, bhikkhave, valāhakā. Katame cattāro? Gajjitā no vassitā, vassitā no gajjitā, neva gajjitā no vassitā, gajjitā ca vassitā ca. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro valāhakā. Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, cattāro valāhakūpamā [pu. pa. 157] puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame cattāro? Gajjitā no vassitā, vassitā no gajjitā, neva gajjitā no vassitā, gajjitā ca vassitā ca.

如是我闻。一时，世尊住舍卫城(现今印度北方邦斯拉瓦斯蒂县)祇树给孤独园。在那里，世尊对比丘们说："诸比丘。"那些比丘回答世尊说："尊者。"世尊如是说：
"诸比丘，有四种云。哪四种？只打雷不下雨，只下雨不打雷，既不打雷也不下雨，既打雷又下雨。诸比丘，这就是四种云。同样地，诸比丘，世间上有四种如云的人存在。哪四种？只打雷不下雨，只下雨不打雷，既不打雷也不下雨，既打雷又下雨。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是只打雷不下雨呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人是说话者，不是实行者。诸比丘，这样的人就是只打雷不下雨。诸比丘，就像那只打雷不下雨的云；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是只下雨不打雷呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人是实行者，不是说话者。诸比丘，这样的人就是只下雨不打雷。诸比丘，就像那只下雨不打雷的云；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。

"诸比丘，怎样的人是既打雷又下雨呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人既是说话者，又是实行者。诸比丘，这样的人就是既打雷又下雨。诸比丘，就像那既打雷又下雨的云；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。诸比丘，这就是世间上存在的四种如云的人。"第一。

103. ‘‘Cattārome, bhikkhave, kumbhā. Katame cattāro? Tuccho pihito, pūro vivaṭo, tuccho vivaṭo, pūro pihito – ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro kumbhā. Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave , cattāro kumbhūpamā [pu. pa. 160] puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame cattāro? Tuccho pihito, pūro vivaṭo, tuccho vivaṭo, pūro pihito.

‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, puggalo tuccho hoti pihito? Idha, bhikkhave, ekaccassa puggalassa pāsādikaṃ hoti abhikkantaṃ paṭikkantaṃ ālokitaṃ vilokitaṃ samiñjitaṃ pasāritaṃ saṅghāṭipattacīvaradhāraṇaṃ. So ‘idaṃ dukkha’nti yathābhūtaṃ nappajānāti…pe… ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yathābhūtaṃ nappajānāti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo tuccho hoti pihito . 103. "诸比丘，有四种瓶。哪四种？空而封闭的，满而开放的，空而开放的，满而封闭的——诸比丘，这就是四种瓶。同样地，诸比丘，世间上有四种如瓶的人存在。哪四种？空而封闭的，满而开放的，空而开放的，满而封闭的。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是空而封闭的呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人的前进后退、观望、屈伸、披袈裟持钵衣都很优雅。他如实不了知'这是苦'……如实不了知'这是趣向苦灭之道'。诸比丘，这样的人就是空而封闭的。诸比丘，就像那空而封闭的瓶；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。

104. ‘‘Cattārome, bhikkhave, udakarahadā. Katame cattāro? Uttāno gambhīrobhāso, gambhīro uttānobhāso, uttāno uttānobhāso, gambhīro gambhīrobhāso – ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro udakarahadā. Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, cattāro udakarahadūpamā [pu. pa. 161] puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame cattāro? Uttāno gambhīrobhāso , gambhīro uttānobhāso, uttāno uttānobhāso, gambhīro gambhīrobhāso.

‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, puggalo uttāno hoti gambhīrobhāso? 104. "诸比丘，有四种水池。哪四种？浅而看似深的，深而看似浅的，浅而看似浅的，深而看似深的——诸比丘，这就是四种水池。同样地，诸比丘，世间上有四种如水池的人存在。哪四种？浅而看似深的，深而看似浅的，浅而看似浅的，深而看似深的。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是浅而看似深的呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人的前进后退、观望、屈伸、披袈裟持钵衣都很优雅。他如实不了知'这是苦'……如实不了知'这是趣向苦灭之道'。诸比丘，这样的人就是浅而看似深的。诸比丘，就像那浅而看似深的水池；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。

105. ‘‘Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, ambāni. Katamāni cattāri? Āmaṃ pakkavaṇṇi [pakkavaṇṇī (pu. pa. 159)], pakkaṃ āmavaṇṇi [āmavaṇṇī (sī. syā. kaṃ. pī.)], āmaṃ āmavaṇṇi, pakkaṃ pakkavaṇṇi – imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri ambāni. Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, cattāro ambūpamā [pakkavaṇṇī (pu. pa. 159)] puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame cattāro? Āmo pakkavaṇṇī, pakko āmavaṇṇī, āmo āmavaṇṇī, pakko pakkavaṇṇī.

"诸比丘，怎样的人是凶猛但毒性不强的呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人不经常生气。但他的愤怒会长时间持续。诸比丘，这样的人就是凶猛但毒性不强的。诸比丘，就像那凶猛但毒性不强的毒蛇；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是既毒性强又凶猛的呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人经常生气。而且他的愤怒会长时间持续。诸比丘，这样的人就是既毒性强又凶猛的。诸比丘，就像那既毒性强又凶猛的毒蛇；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。
"诸比丘，怎样的人是既不毒性强也不凶猛的呢？在这里，诸比丘，某人不经常生气。而且他的愤怒不会长时间持续。诸比丘，这样的人就是既不毒性强也不凶猛的。诸比丘，就像那既不毒性强也不凶猛的毒蛇；诸比丘，我说这个人就是如此。诸比丘，这就是世间上存在的四种如毒蛇的人。"第十。

Tassuddānaṃ –

Dve valāhā kumbha-udaka, rahadā dve honti ambāni;

Mūsikā balībaddā rukkhā, āsīvisena te dasāti.
